Do Banks (Should) Monitor Transactions Related to Binary Options?

01 Mar 2022

Binary Options, one of the many terms that today fill the public sphere in the domestic mass media [1] and is often associated with
investment, cash or nothing, to money laundering. Binary options are actually not trading instruments permitted by regulators in
Indonesia – at least at the moment – therefore approximately 92 binary options domains, including Binomo, IQ Option, Olymptrade,
and Quotex throughout 2021 have been blocked. [2] Also in many other jurisdictions, binary options are an online trading instrument
that is prohibited for various reasons; the risk of loss is high and full of potential fraud by the broker/binary option trading company
itself. However, a number of countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Cyprus, and Malta have
regulated binary options.
